The Altar: The Place of Blessing

1 John 4:18 says that perfect love casts out fear. I learned a truth about God early on in my adult life: Just because God asks you to put everything on the altar doesn't mean He is going to take it away. He is a God of multiplication. The only thing He will take away are things that are keeping us from His will. If we see Him as a God of love, and His perfect love is unconditional toward us, then there is no fear in total surrender.

I experienced this in the beginning of our ministry when we left the ranch and went to Stillwater back in 1993. That was the exact place I needed to be in order to change me into the man God needed me to be. And every move since that time has been a change process.

For the past three years we have been traveling and ministering and reaching the unreached. One of the main places we have ministered at is the Arena Cowboy Church in Lawton, Oklahoma. If you know Oklahoma, you know that is about three hours from where we live in Garber. We have helped establish and build this church from about 35 people to a regular attendance of nearly 200. What is awesome about this is that it is made up mostly of people who were not "churched" and were not already born again. We have seen tremendous results and have over the past nine months raised up a pastor who lives near the Arena Cowboy Church to take over.

Change is coming! We are excited about the passing of the passing of this church to a capable man, Billy Harmon, and will continue to help see this church move forward. God has great timing. As we were preparing the new pastor to take the Arena Cowboy Church, I was asking God what our next assignment was. God has opened up another door just 12 miles from Garber to allow us to reach those in the area we live in. God is good!

Never let the fear of losing something you want or want to do keep you from putting it on the altar. God knows and loves you, and knows what is best. If it is good, He won't keep what you offer up, but rather He will bless it and make it better than you could ever imagine.
